Stuff That Doesn't Fit Anywhere Else: Android Apps (1 Week of Use)
So I’ve had my EVO 4G for a week now, this is what I’m digging so far, apps-wise…
Essentials (these will help overall)
- Astro File Browser (makes it easy to move files on the SD card around, delete them etc)
- Taskiller (I use the widget the most, whenever the phone slows down you just tap to kill everything running in the background)
- Meridian (By far the best music/video player, much better than the stock especially for video)
- Dolphin Browser (Much faster than the stock browser, plus it has tabs and plugins)
- BatteryTime Lite (Can give you a % meter on the topbar, plus stats on how much time you have left before a dead battery)
Favorites (all free)
- Listen (A podcast app, made by Google)
- Alarm Clock+ (Cool alarm app, lots of features)
- Layar (Shows you nearby restaurants, locations of interest, tweets, etc using the camera. It’s a toy, but very cool looking)
- Flixster (Search for showtimes, RottenTomatoes ratings, IMDB integration, best movie app IMO)
- UrbanSpoon (Gets your location via GPS, then options for places to eat. Lots of toys, including shake the phone for random options!)
- Seesmic (The best Twitter app I’ve found, and I’ve tried maybe 8 or 9 so far)
- Ringdroid (Snip any part of any mp3 on the phone to use as a ringtone)
Games (some of these cost $ but not much, ordered by awesomness, top is best)
- World Attack (I’m totally addicted to this game, very fun)
- Bejeweled (An oldie but goody)
- Bubble Bash
- Hyperspace
- Katamari Mobile
- Radiant
- Tetris
- What the Doodle?
- ArtfulBits aiMinesweeper
Also, Teeter is a game that is probably already on your phone, and is great fun.

Awalnya gak pernah terfikir buat membeli handphone ber OS kan Android. Kepingin banget beli iPhone sampe udah nabung-nabung dan ketika duitnya mencukupi, tau-tau terfikir, “Adakah handphone jenis lain [not an apple product] yang memiliki spec sejenis dengan iPhone tapi bukan iPhone?” coz, actually am, an Apple hater (sorry ya buat para pecinta apple
Ada temen yang menyarankan beli Android aja dit, itu kan Open Source dan asik buat yang doyan ngoprek. “Telinga saya langsung panjang mendengar penjelasannya”, dan berakhirlah dengan membawa pulang seperangkat alat sholat Nexus One (second sih emang, tapi gak ngaruh lah).
Sampai dirumah, hal pertama yang dilakukan adalah tanya sana-sini, gugling sana-sini soal aplikasi apa aja yang wajib ada dan wajib dibuang, secara second ya boookk, aplikasinya banyak bener dan bahkan ada yang belom pernah dipake (konon si N1 jarang dipake sama empunya sebelumnya dan cuma jadi HP backup aja). Dan lucunya diriku sibuk nanya sana-sini soal aplikasi, padahal tuh gadget belom ada providernya, terus gimana mau ngunduh aplikasi… LOL
Nah, berhubung saya biasa memberi nama semua barang pribadi milik saya, nyokap nanya, udah ada namanya belom si HP baru. Berhubung jenisnya Nexus One, kalao saya kasi nama Nexy ntar dipikir Nexian… T____T, si nyokap usul “Kenapa gak Ant (Semut) aja?” Kan Ant kepanjangan dari N (baca: eN). Setelah dipikir kalo namanya lucu, jadilah sang Nexus One berubah nama jadi Ant/Semut :D
Dan, iya saya suka “berternak Blog” berhubung gak mungkin bahas #android di blog saya, maka terciptalah akun tumblr ini. *dan sayangnya masih gagal buat login di aplikasi tumblr buat android (ttTumblr dan tumblroid)*
sooo… kedepannya isi tumblr ini semua yang berhubungan dengan si Semut peliharaan baru saya ituuuu ^^
